OHM Pipe Tobacco Review (4/23/2013)

I follow quite a few smoker and tobacco websites, and recently I have seen quite a bit of buzz about OHM Pipe Tobacco.  Lot's of ads with great adjectives piled up, good ratings on tobacco sites, and some people making some rather favorable comments.  Well, when I hear stuff like that, I do what any serious smoker does, and head over to buydiscountcigars.com to order some!

Now, until quite recently I had never came across this brand before, and I don't know a whole lot about it.  I know it is American tobacco, and that they offer several blends and flavors, and well, that is about it.  I ordered a 16oz bag of the Extra Mild OHM Tobacco (which is Silver) because I was very excited to see they had an extra mild variety, and was eager to get my rolling papers out to try rolling it as cigarettes.  I don't do that often with pipe tobacco because it is typically too harsh for me to smoke as a cigarette, but with a name like Extra Mild and such great reviews, I decided to give OHM Pipe Tobacco a shot in some filtered papers I had.

As I opened the resealable bag, I have to say, the smell was quite savory.  The tobacco had just the right moistness, and the fineness of the cut was spot on.  Also, there was good balance in the bag, with a lot of sameness and no outlying strands of tobacco.  This shows attention to detail, and good manufacturing technique, so needless to say, I was even more excited to roll it up in my machine and get to the fun part - smoking it.

Once I had rolled 10 or so cigarettes, I couldn't wait any longer and I fired one up.  It lit quite easily, and my quality machine and the tobacco made for a good draw.  The smoke was quality, light, and did not burn my throat at all!  Finally, a pipe tobacco I can roll and smoke that tastes like a light cigarette!  I HIGHLY recommend you try OHM Pipe Tobacco who likes to roll their own cigarettes!
