Optimo Cigarillos Review (8/14/2012)

Optimo Cigarillos are a well-known brand that has been around for nearly 100 years.  They produce a quality product with a blend of 4 filler tobaccos and an all natural leaf wrapper.  With such a great track record, I could not wait to try some for myself.

Optimo Flavored Cigarillos come in grape and peach, and as peach is one of my favorite flavors, I just had to order them.  The package is quite attractive with Caribbean colors and a Hispanic man on the front, and the box contained 60 cigars.

Now, inspecting the cigarillos showed great uniformity.  No big differences in tobacco amount, dryness, thickness of the wrapper, or any other attribute one might look for.  This is to be expected from a quality brand, and here the Optimo Cigarillos did not come up short at all. 

I lit up the first cigar and immediately noticed that it lit quite easily.  Just a few waves of the lighter and a moderate puffing, and we were well lit all around.  Also, throughout the smoke, it stayed lit with little encouragement, yet managed to last for quite a long burn.  All of these are the hallmarks of a quality cigar.

The flavor itself was a good experience as well.  Bold and flavorful, the peach and tobacco were in good balance and came in mouthfuls.  Also, the aroma was very likeable, but was not very strong.  I prefer a mild aroma for indoor smoking, and this is certainly a cigar you can get away with smoking in the den without smoking out the whole house.

 If you are looking for a higher-end flavored cigarillo, and have not tried Optimo Cigarillos before, we highly recommend you try them.  The great manufacturing standards, bold taste and mild aroma are all too good to pass up.
